History
The Art School for Adults with Learning
Disabilities opened in 1994 with Hanne Clausen, previously a manager, as
the initiator.
The idea was to establish a living art school for
adults with learning disabilities who had the wish and ability to
develop their interest in experiencing and creating pictures.
This has been the constant thread through all the
work at the Art School and over the years many students and teachers
have contributed to the development of the School.
Today the Art School is part of Center 1 in the Municipality of Copenhagen.
The future vision of the School is that it should
become part of a creative and inspiring arts centre for people with
learning disabilities.
